Officeworks Mildura (Vic) secures talented
Team Member with the help of Clontarf
Matt Raymond (Store Business Manager) at
Officeworks Mildura has appointed a new
team member Cohen Tatchell as a result of
Officeworks continued involvement with the
Clontarf Foundation. Clontarf worked closely
with the Mildura team to develop a work
experience program to give local indigenous
youth the opportunity to understand what is
required to secure employment.
Three boys participated in the program,
with Matt and the Mildura team giving
them customer service training, a full store
orientation, history of Officeworks, insight into
our environmental focus through the Positive
Difference Plan and Safety FIRST training.
‘This program creates more opportunities than
just community involvement with the boys, in
fact it helps our existing team members be the
best they can be and become potential future
leaders within Officeworks’ said Matt.
As the program ended, Matt offered
Cohen a permanent casual position as he
demonstrated great engagement with team
members and was able to quickly learn and
retain information.
Developing Cohen’s skills has really bonded the
Mildura team as everyone pitched in, which in
turn has also refined and improved their skills.
‘All team members and store leadership team
have helped train Cohen. Although he is new,
he is an outstanding team member,’ said Matt.
