Thank you to Bhavik Shah for your assistance with photography and to all who submitted content for this edition of Pinpoint. The start of 2019 has brought many new and exciting changes to Officeworks — new members of the OLT, two new store openings, a new business joining the Officeworks team and a new paid parental leave policy. So, this edition of Pinpoint will focus on celebrating all the positive developments that have happened within our business so far this year. But first, I’d like to thank you for the very warm welcome you’ve given me since joining the team in January. It has been an absolute pleasure to meet team members during my time in- store during Back to School and across the Half-Yearly Leadership Updates. To meet so many of you face-to-face was a great exercise in seeing first-hand the passion and commitment you have, as well as hearing feedback about what’s important to you. We’re only a quarter of the way through 2019, and we’ve made several exciting announcements, including the acquisition of Geeks2U, a national provider of on-site information, communication and technology services. Working with Geeks2U enhances our technology and services offer, to ‘Create a better one-stop-shop’ for our customers. We’ve also introduced a new policy called ‘Growing Families’, which will better support team members across the business through one of the most challenging and exciting times in a person’s life – parenthood. On the store front, we successfully relocated Officeworks Taylors Lakes (Vic) to Watergardens Shopping Centre and opened the biggest store in our network in Mentone, to with more than 160 new team members joining the team. We also welcomed Rebecca Oakley, who has been appointed to the role of General Manager Human Resources, and welcomed back Kerry Duncan, who has moved into the role of General Manager Health and Wellbeing. Lastly, Daniel Tollenaere starts as the General Manager Retail at the end of April. In the short time I’ve worked at Officeworks, I’ve learnt that our team is so special because it’s so diverse. It’s important for the growth of our business that we listen to and care for each other. In the spirit of listening, I encourage you all to keep the feedback, ideas and perspectives coming in — whether via your line manager, relevant member of the OLT, or myself directly. We’d like to hear from you. Tell us what you think of Pinpoint by emailing Officeworks Communications@ officeworks.com.au 2 There’s so much to look forward to in the coming months which will continue the growth of Officeworks and Our Purpose of helping make bigger things happen for our team, our customers and our communities.
