INSIGHTSOUT GIZA MYSTERIES CONTINUE Researchers have found some rather strange thermal anomalies at several ancient structures, including an especially 'impressive' one at the Great Pyramid of Giza. Having been built more than 4 000 years ago, modern scientists have been studying them for the last 200 years, but as a new research project illustrates, these iconic tombs are still teeming with mysteries. Launched on October 25, the Scan Pyramids project focuses on the pyramids of Khufu and Khafre, as well as the Bent and the Red pyramids. It combines several non-invasive and non-destructive scanning techniques 'to detect the presence of any unknown internal structures and cavities in ancient monuments', according to a press release issued by Egypt's Minister of Antiquities and the Heritage Innovation Preservation Institute, Mamdouh Eldamaty. He said that at the end of the first scan, the teams have concluded the existence of several thermal anomalies that were observed on all monuments and that no one is sure yet what the anomalies mean, but they may hint at gaps or fissures in the walls, or possibly hidden passageways or chambers. We listen to their story as they narrate their day-to-day, wish and dreams. This is a human story that tells of triumph over situation and position in society. The film was made in collaboration with Megaphone Films (UK) Poster Design by: Siphiwe Mthembu of GeneMedia. For info click here. MULTIPLE REALITIES? Dr Ranga-Ram Chary, a scientist at the California Institute of Technology, believes he may have found evidence that parallel universes have been bumping up against ours, like bubbles floating in a foam, and that these bumps have caused 'bruises' that can be observed. Chary looked for signs of these cosmic bumps in the Planck map of the cosmic microwave background (CMB), a map of the radiation leftover from the first few moments of our forming universe. It's a map that would look the same no matter where you're viewing it from in the universe; a blueprint, if you will, of the structure of the cosmos. What Chary found was extraordinary: mysterious glowing regions that are consistent with the idea of a bump from a parallel world, a place where matter from another universe may even have briefly leaked into ours.
