Staying Engaged Off-Campus
Living off-campus does not mean that you can’t be fully engaged in the on-campus experience.
There are more than 300 student organizations for you to join, on-campus job opportunities,
experiential learning opportunities, and community service opportunities.
Getting Involved
No matter what your interests are, ODU is sure to have a student organization for you
to join. You can also start your own organization, if you do not find an existing one that
appeals to your interests.
Build your leadership skills and résumé, have fun, and meet new people. For more
information on how to get involved, visit: odu.edu/life/gettinginvolved

Volunteer Opportunities
There are so many opportunities to contribute your time and skills to benefit the Norfolk
community. Old Dominion University gives students an easy way to connect to community
service opportunities through its Center for Service and Civic Engagement.
The Center for Service and Civic Engagement
“builds complementary partnerships with
community and campus organizations to connect
volunteers with service opportunities both on and
off campus. The CSCE also helps support service-
based student organizations and events including
National Days of Service, Colleges Against Cancer,
Monarch 2 Monarch, Adopt A Spot, T.R.U.S.T.,
Rotaract, Fear 2 Freedom, and countless others.”
Connect with opportunities at the CSCE by visiting:
odu.edu/life/gettinginvolved/service or follow on
social media. Their Twitter handle is @VolunteerODU.
You can also find service opportunities and connect with other volunteers in the Norfolk
area by downloading the GivePulse app on your phone.
