Disney goes back to the future…
S
tar Wars: The Force
Awakens isn’t the
only high-concept
sci-fi film being
readied by Disney. Much
sooner than that film’s
appearance, you’ll be able to
see this, Tomorrowland.
Co-written and directed by
Brad Bird (Ratatouille,
Mission Impossible: Ghost
Protocol) along with Damon
Lindelof (Lost), Tomorrowland
takes Disneyland’s retrofuturistic theme park vision of
Utopia as a jumping off point
for a spectacular tale of Casey,
an inquisitive young woman
(Britt Robertson) who finds a
badge and discovers that it
transports her between the real
world and a wonder-filled
alternate universe, that just so

happens to be absolutely
flipping amazing!
Casey soon learns that she’s
not the only person who knows
about Tomorrowland however,
as disillusioned former boy
genius, Frank Walker (Clooney)
is also linked to this place
beyond space and time. But
what is Tomorrowland, how
does it connect to our own
world, and what secrets does it
hold for Casey, Frank and the
rest of humanity?
With Tomorrowland’s
inspirations including
Spielberg classic, Close
Encounters of the Third Kind,
this promises to be a
stunningly realised, uplifting
story that’ll enchant and thrill
in equal measure when it hits
screens on 22 May.
