Spider-Man:
Homecoming
Look out – here comes the Spider-Man!
Following his pitch-perfect
turn in last year’s Captain
America: Civil War, London-
born youngster Tom Holland (who,
at time of writing, had yet to turn 21)
is back as the web-slinging wonderkid
for an outrageously entertaining
adventure that promises to top every
Spider-Man film we’ve seen so far.
Yes – even the Tobey Maguire ones!
Officially the 16th film in the Marvel
Cinematic Universe, Homecoming sees
Holland’s Peter Parker – a seemingly
normal, if slightly geeky 15-year-old
– attempting to navigate the many
pitfalls of teenage life.

mix – a devious salvage company boss
with a huge pair of mechanical wings
at his disposal – and it’s a turbulent
time for our favourite webhead.
Helping hand
Thankfully, on hand to offer our
fledgling hero advice and support are
Peter’s beloved Aunt May (played with
great warmth by the Oscar-winning
Marisa Tomei) and a certain Tony Stark
– aka Iron Man, aka the effortlessly
cool Robert Downey Jr. As sardonic
as ever, Stark guides our fledgling
Avenger through everything from school
to superheroics. Well, he tries anyway...
cue much disaster and hilarity.
“Is it a first step towards Tony as some
sort of mentor figure? Is he comfortable
with that? Has he ever seen himself as
that? Or is he the one who’s needed the
mentoring along the way?” pondered
Downey Jr in a recent interview. “I think
it’s a really interesting facet of Tony
Stark’s personality that we get to
explore in his relationship with Peter.”
Are your spider senses tingling? Ours
too! This is gonna be soooooo good.
