A re your spider senses tingling ? They should be , because Stan Lee ’ s most famous creation has a new movie out this month and it ’ s so good it ’ s going to leave you in a spin ...

Starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man , Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark / Iron Man and Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes / The Vulture , it ’ s the sixth film devoted to the Webbed Wonder in 15 years , but don ’ t let that put you off because as anyone who ’ s seen 2016 ’ s Captain America : Civil War will tell you , British-born Holland is everything you ’ d want in your heroic webhead and more . But don ’ t just take our word for it ...
“ Holland not only makes a case for being the best screen [ Spider-Man ] so far , but also threatens to steal the entire film ,” enthused the website gamesradar . co . uk in its Civil War review . “ His Peter Parker is perfect – nervy , goofy and instantly endearing .”
Empire Magazine was just as complimentary . “ His introduction to the action is resoundingly joyous , the reboot the character truly deserves .”
Nifty feet We ’ re sold and we ’ re guessing you are too . But , by our count , there have been at least 10 big-and-small-screen spider-men to date , including such Hollywood luminaries as Tobey Maguire ( The Cider House Rules , The Ice Storm ) and Andrew Garfield ( Hacksaw Ridge , The Social Network ). Just what is it about Holland that has people raving ?
Well , it might have something to do with the fact that this 21-year-old Londoner ( whose father , incidentally , is the author and comedian
Dominic Holland ) has superpowers of his own . Or as close as you can get to superpowers anyway . Tutored ( initially , at least ) at the Nifty Feet Dance School in Wimbledon , Holland made his West End debut in June 2008 as best friend Michael in the smash-hit musical Billy Elliot . He was so impressive that within just a few months , he ’ d leapt ( geddit ?) into the title role . Now , if you ’ ve seen either the film or the show , you ’ ll know that young Billy can really move – surely the perfect training
“ We ’ ve seen the soldier , we ’ ve seen the god ... now it ’ s time to see the kid ”
