PHOTO: © 2016 Entertainment One Ltd things you need to know about… David Brent: Life on the Road 1 Life on the Road catches up with David Brent 12 years after the events of The Office, although writer/star Ricky Gervais has gone on record to say that it’s “not an Office film”. 2 The former Wernham Hogg general manager is now earning his crust as a sales rep. When we reunite with him, however, he’s on tour with his rock band Foregone Conclusion (having taken a holiday from work). 3 The production is shot in the same mockumentary style as the TV series. As deluded as ever, Brent thinks that he’s being filmed for a Rolling Stones-style piece, but it’s actually a ‘Where Are They Now?’ documentary. 4 In order to promote the film, Ricky Gervais (who plays Brent), set up some live David Brent and Foregone Conclusion concerts. 5 Brent’s band also includes Dom (Doc Brown), who performed the spoof reggae song ‘Equality Street’ with Ricky Gervais for Comic Relief in 2013. Based on George Harrar’s novel, it sees Coster-Waldau’s philosophy professor 6 odeon.co.uk becoming the prime suspect when a high school cheerleader disappears. • Great news for Transformers fans – there will be at least four more films featuring the robots in disguise, kicking off with next year’s transformers: the last knight. • A sequel to the 1996 British hit Trainspotting is in the works. Entitled T2: Trainspotting 2, it reteams Ewan McGregor’s Renton with Robert Carlyle’s Begbie and Jonny Lee Miller’s Sick Boy.
