Rhapsody rocks its
way into ODEON cinemas.
To celebrate the release
of this much anticipated –
and long in development
– Queen biopic, we scoured
the archives and discovered
this incredible picture of
band frontman Freddie
Mercury performing at
the famous Hammersmith
ODEON (these days the
Hammersmith Apollo).
Taken in 1978, it brilliantly
captures the essence of
the flamboyant singer, who
placed 58th in the BBC’s
2002 poll: ‘100 Greatest
Britons’. Mercury, sadly,
died in 1991 at the far-too-
young age of 45. But like
Queen’s unforgettable songs,
his legend will live forever.
