Juliet sees our favourite star-crossed garden
ornaments (voiced, once again, by James
McAvoy and Emily Blunt) moving to a lovely
new garden, along with all their fellow gnomes.
At first, life is blissful for our ceramic lovebirds,
but then one day all of their friends and
family mysteriously disappear. Utterly baffled,
Gnomeo and Juliet call in legendary detective
Sherlock Gnomes and his sidekick Dr. Watson
to help solve the case. What follows is a tale
of epic proportions as this unlikely foursome
attempt to bring every gnome home.
The original movie featured a top director,
new songs by Elton John and a witty script
loaded with in-jokes. With Kung Fu Panda’s
John Stevenson calling the shots this time, this
follow-up has all that too, plus the added bonus
of Johnny Depp as Sherlock Gnomes, Chiwetel
Ejiofor as Watson and Mary J. Blige as Irene.
Personally, we’re most looking forward to the
return of Mankini. Boy, can that gnome twerk.
