Jackass’ Johnny Knoxville
takes us on a wild ride
DIRECTOR Tim Kirkby
starring Brigette Lundy-Paine,
Johnny Knoxville, chris pontius
Loosely inspired by
the real-life New
Jersey theme park,
Action Park (which was known
to locals as Accident Park
due to the many mishaps that
occurred there), this no-holds-
barred comedy see Jackass’
Johnny Knoxville playing
D.C., the daredevil owner of a
ramshackle 1980s amusement
park (one that isn’t too
bothered by safety regulations).
When a corporate-owned
megapark opens close by,
causing D.C. to lose 45 per cent
of his business, he decides to
give his park “an excitement
enema”. In short, he throws
out the few rules that he was
adhering to. Cue carnage!
As the crazy genius behind
Jackass (a bonkers show
about bonkers blokes doing
bonkers things), you won’t
be at all surprised to learn
that Knoxville did all his
own stunts in this movie
(and consequently ended
up in the emergency room
on several occasions). With
co-stars Chris Pontius (another
Jackass alumni) and Brigette
Lundy-Paine (Downsizing) also
game for anything, prepare for
the wildest of wild rides!

with almost universal
acclaim, with critics describing
it as “smart” and “unflinching”.
Although there’s no Emily
Blunt this time round, Josh
Brolin and Benicio Del Toro
both return for a story that
sees their hardened characters
re-teaming to prevent Mexican
drug cartels from smuggling
terrorists into the US.
Edgy, disturbing and stylish,
this is hand’s down one of the
best thrillers of the summer.
