Set in modern-day Los Angeles (the City of Angels for some, the city of broken dreams for others), the film is directed by Damien Chazelle (the creative mastermind behind the devastatingly effective Whiplash) and sees jazz pianist Sebastian (Gosling) falling for aspiring actress Mia (Stone).
