Tell us about your job...
My job title is guest
experience intern.
I predominately work
with the Luxe team
helping roll out
ODEON Luxe brand
messaging and
readying cinemas for
re-opening as a Luxe.
What was the last film
you saw at ODEON?
It Chapter Two. As
a horror lover, I was
really impressed with
how scary it was!
Why all superhero fans will be flocking to Birds of Prey:
and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn
Don’t call her a sidekick! All
dyed bunches, bubblegum and
baseball bats, Margot Robbie’s
Harley Quinn was the standout
villain from 2016’s Suicide
Squad – and while her boss has
enjoyed rave reviews for solo
project Joker, this cheerleader-
from-Hell is threatening to go
one better with Birds of Prey,
released in February next year.
After her skin-shedding
roles in everything from Mary
Queen of Scots to I, Tonya,
we’ve come to expect dynamite
performances from Robbie,
and it’s tantalising to think
where the Australian actress
might take this fan-favourite
character next. As she says, “I
just think there’s so much more
we can do with Harley Quinn”
– and director Cathy Yan has
worked with screenwriter
Christina Hodson to create
a story that does justice to
DC’s coolest cult villain. In a
Gotham City left unprotected
by an absent Batman, a young
girl is targeted by a crime
gang led by Ewan McGregor’s
terrifying Black Mask – and
as Quinn leads her team of
vigilantes (including Mary
Elizabeth Winstead’s Huntress)
into battle, we’re promised
action sequences that’ll make
our eyes pop. “In this movie,”
teases Robbie. “There’s a
lot of really cool stunts…”
Birds of Prey – out 7 February
• A Tomb Raider sequel starring Alicia Vikander has been greenlit. Expect it in 2021
