And you thought your
loved ones were crazy In the battle of the sexes,
she has the upper hand
DIRECTOR Stephen Merchant
starring Dwayne Johnson,
Florence Pugh, Lena Headey DIRECTOR Adam Shankman
starring Taraji P. Henson,
tracy morgan, KRISTEN LEDLOW
Starring Dwayne
‘The Rock’ Johnson
as himself, this funny
and surprisingly sweet comedy
drama (which is based on true
events) follows the adventures
of a British family of wrestlers,
notably daughter Paige, who
earns a spot in the WWE’s
training program. She leaps
at the chance, but finds the
going tougher than expected.
Thank goodness then for her
anything-but-ordinary family,
who wholeheartedly encourage
her on her high-flying quest. This rib-tickling
comedy is a remake of
What Women Want,
the hit Mel Gibson film from the
noughties. That film saw Mel
gaining the ability to hear
women’s thoughts and this
update follows the same
premise, but this time with
Taraji P. Henson’s sports agent
able to read men’s minds. It was
a clever idea then, and it’s clever
now, as Ali uses her new ‘skills’
to outsmart her colleagues.
However you identify, you’ll
be holding your sides.

An ex-con goes undercover
at a notorious prison
DIRECTOR Andrea Di Stefano
starring Joel Kinnaman,
Rosamund Pike, Ana de Armas
Based on the novel
Three Seconds by the
Swedish crime-writing
duo Roslund & Hellström, this
gripping action thriller sees
Joel Kinnaman (Alex Murphy
in the 2014 RoboCop remake)
playing Pete Koslow, a reformed
criminal working for crooked
FBI agents. At the request of
his morally bankrupt handlers,
Pete deliberately gets himself
jailed at a maximum security
prison in order to infiltrate the
Mob gang within. Needless to
say, things do not go according
to plan. You’ll be biting your
knuckles from start to end.

the actions of those on both
sides of the invasion: the
collaborators and the
dissenters. The grounded
setting makes Captive State an
unsettling watch; events feel
real and as the storyline unfolds
you can’t help wondering how
you yourself would respond. If
clever sci-fi is your thing, then
absolutely don’t miss this.
