It’s the fourth
movie in the LEGO
franchise...
...and the sequel
to the film that
kick-started it all:
2014’s critically
acclaimed (but
bafflingly Oscar-
ignored) The LEGO
Movie – a firm
favourite in the
Odeon Mag office.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part

Mike Mitchell
directs
Rob Schrab was
originally behind
the camera,
but “creative
differences” put
paid to that.
Mitchell’s track
record includes
the glitter-tastic
Trolls, so expect
great things.

All our favourites
are back
That includes Chris
Pratt as Emmet,
Elizabeth Banks as
Wyldstyle and Will
Arnett as Batman,
while Phil Lord and
Christopher Miller
– the clever-clogs
writers behind the
first LEGO Movie
– also return.

The battle for
Bricksburg is on...
The story this time
sees Emmet and
friends adjusting to
a post-apocalyptic
world destroyed by
evil LEGO DUPLO
invaders. Can our
intrepid heroes
find a way to beat
these meanie
marauders?

There are lots of
big-name additions
Margot Robbie
takes over from
Jenny Slate as
Harley Quinn
(reprising her
Suicide Squad
role), while Girls
Trip’s Tiffany
Haddish plays
Queen Watevra
Wa-Nabi.
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part assembles in cinemas from 8 February
One to watch
Isabela Moner
Instant Family, coming your way this February,
stars household names Mark Wahlberg and
Rose Byrne, but its their on-screen adopted
offspring Lizzy – played by Isabela Moner – who
steals the film. If Moner looks familiar then
you’re probably a Transformers fan. The 17-year-
old was the best thing about 2017’s The Last Knight.
With the live-action Dora the Explorer movie next on
her slate, this is an actress heading in one direction: up.
Instant Family – destined to warm your heart from 15 Feb
• Mad Men’s Jon Hamm has joined the cast of the Top Gun sequel
