As new and anticipated legal frameworks and regulatory guidance emerge and demand compliance from businesses , our Privacy and Cybersecurity Law Section will develop CLEs and informative programs tailored to address the most pressing issues , legal updates , operational challenges , and best practices for Atlanta lawyers looking to enhance their knowledge in this domain . We ' re excited to delve into topics like artificial Intelligence , state legislation , recent SEC regulations , federal guidance , and industry-specific privacy laws . To deliver comprehensive and engaging content , we plan to collaborate with other Atlanta and Georgia Bar sections , offering diverse perspectives on each topic . These partnerships will provide attendees with a more holistic understanding of the intersectionality between data law and other subject matter areas .
As spring approaches , our programming will focus on addressing the most compelling topics capturing the attention of data privacy and security lawyers , as well as those who may not practice data law day-to-day , but who may just as well be impacted by the same . We ' ll delve into issues such as advertising technology and its intersection with health and data privacy , collaboration with vendors and statutorily required agreements , breach reporting and compliance with state and federal disclosure rules , litigation trends including class actions , private rights of action , and government enforcement , and the often-overlooked importance of data security within the broader context of data privacy and cybersecurity practice . Furthermore , we want to hear from you ! We value your input and would love to hear what data privacy and security issues are most intriguing to Atlanta lawyers and the businesses that they represent .
Beyond CLEs and programming , the Privacy and Cybersecurity Law Section is thrilled to host its Annual Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Symposium . The Symposium is currently in the planning stage , with its agenda set to be available in 2024 . Any updates will be promptly shared with our members .

Antonette , a seasoned privacy professional , serves as a Privacy Governance & Technology Transactions Associate at BakerHostetler in Atlanta . Kelley Noelke is a privacy and technology expert , currently acting as Delta Airlines ' Privacy & Information Security Counsel . Nikole Davenport holds the position of Senior Managing Director and Data Compliance Leader at FTI Consulting , a global leader in business consulting and advisory . Vivien Peaden , an expert in cybersecurity and privacy , specializes in technology contracts and transactions as Of Counsel at Baker Donelson .
In addition , we ' re delighted to introduce two Georgia State College of Law students to our leadership team . Jonah Owens is a tech- minded second-year law student who worked as a College Advisor for Apple before starting his studies at the College of Law . Josh Fuqua is also a second-year law student at Georgia State . Focused on data privacy and cybersecurity practice , Josh serves as an executive board member of the College ’ s very first data privacy- oriented law society .
