National Dictionary Day was created in honor of Noah Webster ’ s birthday ( October 16 , 1758 ). Webster is considered the Father of the American Dictionary . The observance emphasizes the importance of learning while using dictionary skills and increasing one ’ s vocabulary .
Your assignment — find a word and ‘ be ’ the definition . You may wrap your child up in gauze and band aids to showcase the word ‘ injured .’ ‘ Scrumptious ’ could be created in many ways , or even ‘ brilliant ’ with a magnifying glass and a lab coat .
