Please notify the school nurse at 860-253-6572 or at nnetherwood @ en eldschools . org if your child experiences a covid exposure or tests positive . Mrs . Netherwood will discuss with you the length of the quarantine and what testing is suggested .
Eating in the Classroom Lunch in the classroom is a new experience for all of us the year . To help keep desks cleaner , it would be helpful if each child ’ s “ snack and lunch set-up ” included some kind covering on their desk to place their food on . It can be as simple as a napkin or a paper towel . The covering should be disposed of at the end of snack & lunch or if material , returned to their lunch box . Students should be washing their hands upon entering their classroom in the morning , before and after eating , as well as after using the bathroom and coming in from recess . Many of our students have allergies to a variety of different foods . Please note we cannot “ ban ” a food in a classroom . The American Disabilities Act does not allow for a student ’ s disability to impact another student . The most common example that people think of is a peanut allergy . We cannot deny a student who only eats a peanut butter and uff sandwich for lunch not to have it . In the past , if the
