Surfing Toward a Brighter Future
The partnership’ s momentum carried through to the Eastern Cape, where eXp Realty joined Laureus and the 9Miles Project for their Holiday Program in St. Francis Bay in early July and late September. The initiative brought together youth from coastal communities for mentorship, life lessons, and surfing— often for the first time.
Gawie Rossouw, Growth Development Manager at eXp Realty South Africa, recounted the experience in his heartfelt reflection,“ Changing Lives, One Wave at a Time.”
“ Watching these children face their fears, get knocked down by waves, and get back up again taught me more than any boardroom ever has,” Rossouw wrote.“ Surfing became a metaphor for life and business— focus breeds discipline, discipline drives success, and getting back up is where the growth happens.”
That day, eXp agents, families, and Laureus ambassadors stood shoulder to shoulder with the 9Miles youth— a living example of collaboration in action. For Gawie’ s daughters, who joined the trip, the takeaway was simple yet profound:“ It’ s about changing lives, being grateful, and helping others rise.”
