Since the late 1970s, Aurora City Center has been envisioned as the city’s downtown core. Today, the approximately 772-acre City Center district is evolving into a more walkable, transit-oriented, mixed-use destination, with new multifamily residences, townhomes, pocket parks, public art, retail and civic spaces contributing to the transformation.

The Aurora Metro Center RTD Station serves as a central connection point, providing access to the R Line and nine bus routes. A dedicated pedestrian and bicycle path links the station to City Center Park and the High Line Canal Trail, while more than 60 acres of undeveloped land near the station provide opportunities for continued transit-oriented development.

The surrounding area also offers a broad range of shopping, dining and everyday services. Town Center at Aurora includes more than 125 specialty stores, restaurants and a movie theater, with additional major retailers nearby. Together, the area’s transit access, recreational amenities, retail offerings and remaining development opportunities are helping shape Aurora City Center as an emerging hub for new multifamily development.
