We’ re still swooning over being honored with a Best of Rhode Island Editors’ Pick award. When we started Rhode Island Red Food Tours, the objective was to share the amazing culinary talent here in our beloved Ocean State. Ten years later, that’ s our same goal. We bring our guests from around the world to our outstanding eateries where they also learn about local history, see iconic attractions and get immersed in Rhode Island culture. To be recognized by Rhode Island Monthly is truly humbling. Our woman-owned company is small but mighty, our guides work hard to deliver an extraordinary experience and our restaurateurs are generous with their time and talent. We’ re so grateful!

We’ re honored to be named Best Laotian Food by Rhode Island Monthly! Not only do we serve bold and flavorful Lao cuisine, but we also proudly share authentic Thai dishes that celebrate our roots. This recognition is more than just an award— it’ s deeply personal. It’ s a celebration of our roots and the story behind every dish— my father being from Pakse, Laos, and my mother being from Nong Khai( Ban Ton Noi), the Isaan region of Thailand. Together, their roots inspired the flavors and spirit behind everything we serve. Their heritage and traditions are the soul of Haus de la Vie. This award is especially dedicated to my mom, the heart of our kitchen! Her passion, strength and recipes continue to inspire everything we do.

“ Guest List,” August
As a little girl growing up in the’ 80s and’ 90s, I didn’ t have social media … I measured“ coolness,“ greatness” an d“ success” by the pictures of celebrities in Seventeen magazine, Entertainment Weekly and People. That’ s why, today at work, when a colleague noticed a picture of my husband and I in Rhode Island Monthly magazine, featuring those who were in attendance at the RI International Film Festival event in March, I couldn’ t help but feel excited for that little girl— who never dreamed she would be photographed in a magazine, wearing black tie, with a handsome man, attending a red carpet event. It means nothing, but for a brief moment, it gave me perspective that we are all celebrities, we are all deserving of enjoying the best life has to offer, and we all deserve to be in the spotlight every now and then.
