Washington Trust Celebrates 225 Years

On Aug. 22, Washington Trust marked 225 years of service as the oldest community bank in the nation. In honor of the occasion, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Edward O.“ Ned” Handy III rang the Nasdaq opening bell alongside approximately fifty Washington Trust executive leaders, senior managers and employees.
