Our New S1 ’ s
Written by Ella Ramsay & Zoe Govan ( S2 )
With the new academic year at Marr in full swing , we interviewed some new S1 ' s to see how they are settling into being in secondary school .
We asked Lucy ( S1 ) and Ella ( S1 ) to see how they are transitioning into their first year of Marr College . We asked them a series of questions about how they felt about moving . " I felt nervous about coming into Marr " Ella said , " I was unsure about what to expect but we settled in quickly and before I knew it , this felt like my school ." " The only thing I have not enjoyed is the long lunch queues ." said Lucy . We then asked them if they enjoyed secondary school more than primary school . " Yes , we both agree that secondary school is much better because we can stretch our legs between classes , and we are not stuck in the same classroom all day " Lucy Said . " We also have made a few new friends " Ella Added . " Have you joined any new clubs ?" we asked . " Yes , I have joined Netball and I have another hockey session now ." Lucy answered . " I ' ve joined the girls football team " Ella replied . " There is such a large variety of clubs within the school , it ' s hard to choose what to do ." We asked them if finding their way around the school was difficult . " Yes , even so I had the help of my friends who figured out how to get around the school faster than me ." Lucy said . " Teachers in the corridors where also very helpful to tell me where to get to my next class ," Ella added . " What about homework ?" We asked them . " We do not get a lot of homework , but this is only the beginning of the year ." Ella said . Finally , we asked them is it as nerve-wracking as they thought moving into Marr College would be . " No , Marr College is not as nerve-wracking as I thought moving would be ."
In conclusion the girls love being part of Marr College and enjoy being part of a bigger school and community .
