FALL MAINTENANCE CHECK LIST
Fall is the perfect time to take care of the little things that can make a big difference for you and your home .
☐ Stow your mower . Clean grass and gunk from mower deck ; run it dry before storing . ☐ Remove garden hoses and store in shed or garage . Turn off valves on exterior faucets . ☐ Inspect your roof . Repair any loose , damaged , or buckled shingles before winter . ☐ Drain and turn off sprinkler system . ☐ Seal cracks around doors and windows . ☐ Clean your gutters . ☐ Direct drainage away from your house . ☐ Prune your plants . ☐ Get furnace serviced . ☐ Check chimney for blockages ; check that damper is working . ☐ Test smoke and CO monitors , inspect fire extinguishers , review fire escape plans , and rid your home of any potential fire hazards .
