NEW HAMPSHIRE SECTION ASCE
2024 SCHOLARSHIP GOLF OUTING By : Anabelle Audet
If there is one phrase that can summarize this year ’ s golf outing it would have to be “ there ’ s a first time for everything !” I must start with thanking all the teams this year for the flexibility and dedication to event . Due to tropical Storm Debby back in August , we had to postpone the tournament for weather for the first time ever . Funny enough , we still got sprinkled on during out makeup date of September 20 th , but I think folks enjoyed the fall air over the blazing heat we ’ ve had in years past .
Another first was yet again the largest crew of golfers that ASCE-NH has every had the pleasure of hosting for the 2024 Scholarship Golf Outing . With an over-capacity shotgun start , 152 people and 38 teams , folks rolled out to the greens at promptly 8:30 am for what ended up being a great day on the course . Beaver Meadow once again graciously accommodated our scholarship event , the largest event they ’ ve ever hosted as well ! One more first , the most ASCE-NH was able to raise at the scholarship golf outing - about $ 10,000 for next year ’ s scholarship winners !
Contests that were run throughout the day consisted of the longest drive , the closest to the pin at all the Par 3 ’ s , the overall lowest scoring team , and the putting contest . We brought back the pink ball scavenger hunt and we had quite a few excellent seekers , but not all balls were found . Keep an eye out at Beaver Meadow for

This year was our second time serving up our ASCE-NH sponsored hot dogs at the turn while golfers took a shot at the putting contest and a small break between the front and back nine . Miss Maureen the Hot Dog Machine worked hard all day serving up freshly grilled hot dogs to all our golfers
and volunteers . Lunch was then served at the end of everyone ’ s 18 holes under the big tent outside where we raffled off some amazing prizes and handed out the awards .
