PRESIDENT ’ S MESSAGE

Dear ASCE Members ,
As we enter October , it ’ s a great time to reflect on the important work we do as civil engineers . Just like the changing seasons , our profession is constantly evolving , and we play a key role in shaping the communities we live in .
Be sure to mark your calendars for our upcoming joint meeting with Vermont ( November 13 ) in White River Junction , VT , ( Hotel Coolidge ) and other networking events , which are fantastic opportunities to learn , share , and connect with your fellow engineers . Whether you ’ re gaining new skills or catching up with colleagues , these events are always a highlight .
In keeping with past President ’ s tradition of cheesy movie quotes - in the words of Dr . Emmett Brown from Back to the Future , “ Where we ’ re going , we don ’ t need roads ”— but we sure do need infrastructure ! Roads , bridges , and water systems are at the core of what we do , and while we may not be inventing time travel , we are certainly shaping the future . Let ’ s keep that spirit of innovation alive in all our projects .
We encourage you all to reach out with your thoughts , ideas , or feedback and let us know if you are interested in being more involved within the ASCE community . As we all know , we are stronger as a community when we work together .
There will be a separate write up in this newsletter for the golf outing , but I just want to highlight and bring attention to the fact that thanks to all your efforts , we were able to raise $ 10,000 for the scholarship fund – thank you to everyone who participated , organized , volunteered , and helped in any way , shape , or form .
Enjoy the beauty ( and spookiness ) of the season and be well . Warm regards ,
Michael Eno President , ASCE-NH
