LADIES : The Ladies did not have any events this month , but some did play in regional competitions at away courses . The next LGCC tournament for the ladies is the Fall Fling scheduled for October 2 .
SENIORS : The Senior Association group had two Interclub matches in September . Fourteen members travelled to Orchard Creek and lost several close matches to lose by 20 holes . Orchard Creek came to Lexington and we defended the home turf and won by 30 holes . Each match is a two-man best ball with a point won for each hole played . The seniors are captained by Bob Hopkins . The seniors play again on Sept 30 at home vs Lakeview .
JUNIORS : The Rockbridge HS golf team advanced thru the Districts and play the regionals at Lake Monticello on Sept 27 . Freshman Andrew McCoy and junior Sofia Vargas made the all-district team . Rounding out the team are Jack Jensen , Abby Brooks , Kendal Nye , Nicholas Vargas , and Wil Gibbs .
Two , parent-child teams played at Roanoke CC in the First Tee event . The Jensen ’ s , Jack and John , had fun and hit the ball well , but struggled on the quick greens . Harrison Tanner and his dad , Drew , finished third in their division , 2 strokes behind the leaders . This is a big event with over 200 participants over 2 days .
MEN ’ S EVENTS : The Club Championship was held in September with David Brogan winning the scratch division in a 1 up final over Kurt Swenson . Winkie Roberts won the net division , beating Tom Beebe 4 & 3 in the finals . Congratulations to both on their fine play .
CLUB EVENTS : The Fall Member-Member has been switched to a one-day event and will now be held on Saturday , November 6 . There will be 2 flights using Stableford
