Champagne and Oysters
OCT. 24: The salt ponds along the Rhode
Island coast are home to a dozen oyster
farms. Try two delicious varieties of
shucked oysters and follow instructions
to shucking for yourself. Enjoy oysters on
the half shell alongside hand-picked wine
pairings and discuss why certain wines
pair well with briny bivalves. A naturalist
will also be on hand to discuss the natural
and human history of the native oyster and
describe how they are farmed today. 5:30–
6:30 p.m. $60. Weekapaug Inn, 25 Spray
