Halloween is not cancelled ! Enjoy Halloween family fun all month long with no gore . Enter the trail … if you dare from the East parking lot and head towards the interpretive Center . Download the eye-spy sheet for added monstrous fun during your hike . We ask that you remain on the path at all times and no dogs are allowed . Visit our playfully spooky Interpretive Center on Halloween to find fun decorations and even a few surprises . Snakes , birds of prey , insects and other animals will remain on display with our focus being education , not fright . Only 25 visitors are allowed into the Interpretive Center at a time . Costumes welcome ! No advance registration required .

There is a nonstop color show that the trees at The Grove put on from late summer to late autumn that you don ’ t want to miss . Take a hike with a trained guide through The Grove ' s trails this fall . Learn about the plants and animals of the area and open your senses to nature . This is a relatively easy hike accessible to a wide range of walkers and a great way to learn about and appreciate the flora and fauna of Illinois . FREE ! Space is limited . Registration per participant required by calling 847-299-6096 or visiting the Interpretive Center reception desk .
