FIJI MISSION NORTH TRIP T he Fiji Mission as part of Bible Week 2018 visited the Northern side of Fiji. The team was divided into two groups. Labasa Team was headed by Charles Cleary the Mission Coordinator, Ratu Marika Waqanivalu and Sainimili Ciriavesi. The Savusavu Team was led by Mere Fonmoa - Fiji Mission Man- ager, Vilomena Dautei, Patiliai Teleni, Rev Apenisa Lewatoro, Ledua Tura- ganivalu and Mere Katonivere. The General Secretary joined the team later in the week. The purpose of this trip is our yearly Bible Week program and Advocacy program. During the one week, the Savusavu Team hosted three Workshops which are the Leadership, Translation and Trauma Healing in the day time and at Participants - Workshop in Savusavu night they travelled to different villages for Bible Week Awareness. Villages visited are Yaroi, Waivunia, Nagigi, Ketei and also attended the Cakaudrove Women’s Rally held at Yaroi village. The team also distributed Bibles to the Cakaudrove Soqosoqo Vakamarama, the Nasavusavu Methodist Divisional School and Yaroi Primary. The Workshop was held at the Salvation Army Corp in Savusavu and with participants from different denominations. The team left for Labasa the following week. In Labasa the Bible Week [June 24th – July 1st ] was hosted by the Qoibau Methodist Circuit. They had their Bible – readathon pro- grammes in their churches which were: Uluinakavika, Vunimoli, Batinikama, Nubunikavula, Galoa and Vunimoli. There was also awareness programmes and Bible Quiz in the evenings. Closing of Bible Week had a combine service at Batinikama once again and the speaker was our General Secretary Mr Solomone Duru. The three workshops that was organized in Savusavu during the Bible Week was also held on the following week at the Labasa Salvation Army Church. Participants - Workshop in Labasa We thank God for the opportunity to visit the North and distributed His Word to a school and churches and even the Labasa Fire Department. We thank the Salvation Army Corps in Savusavu and Labasa for their hospitality. DILKUSHA GIRLS SHOOL T he Bible Society was invited by the Dilkusha Girls School for the Bible Week Celebration. The invitation was attended by BSSP General Secretary Solomone Duru, Solomone Cinavilakeba (Warehouse Officer) and Avisai Daveta (IT officer). A programme was prepared by the School that allowed our staff to be part of it and to share with them the work of Bible Society. The Bible Society is grateful for the donation of the children of Dilkusha Girls School. CHARLES CLEARY T he BSSP - Fiji Mis- sion farewell one of our team this year. Charles Cleary has been with the Society for 14 years from a sales representative in the Sales & Marketing Department to being the Mission Coordinator. We pray that God will con- tinue to bless Charles, his family and his new journey. God bless you Charles on your new journey.
