Page 16 The Colebrook Chronicle Friday, October 7, 2016 Obituaries Evelyn Carney EVELYN CARNEY CLARKSVILLE–Evelyn “Toodles” Pearl (McKinnon) Carney, 81, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her home in Clarksville on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016. Evelyn was the daughter of Donald and Evelyn (Robinson) McKinnon. She was born on Dec. 5, 1934, in Burlington, Mass., the eldest of six siblings. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1953 and went on to a three-year nursing degree program at the Nashua Memorial Nurse Training Hospital in Nashua. She worked at the Coos County Nursing Hospital in Stewartstown until she married the love of her life, Wilmont (Bob) Carney on May 11, 1957, in her parents’ living room in Clarksville. She had met Bob at her cousin’s and dearest, Emily Haynes, home in Stewartstown. Several months following the wedding, she moved with her family to a farm in Madbury for about three years, only to return to Clarksville in 1961 to plant their roots and raise seven children. She had quite a passion for sewing, knitting, making jingle bread, and embroidery. Evelyn loved to knit hats, mittens, and scarves for Christmas every year for her family, including the neighborhood kids over the years. She sewed clothing, doll clothes, or whatever was needed on her Singer peddle sewing machine. Bob bought her a new electric one, but she preferred the peddle machine. Every year for the holidays she would be hard at work making her jingle bread for friends and family. She also dabbled in embroidery, making pillow cases and wall hangings for family and friends. Her pet peeve was cleaning out the ice box. One of her favorite pastimes over the years became her puzzles that she got a lot of peace and an enjoyment from. Evelyn is survived by three daughters: Cheryl (Carney) Eastman and husband, Bob of Stewartstown;, Janice (Carney) Duplessie and husband, Eugene of Canaan, Vt., and Kizzie (Carney) Pinet and husband, Kevin of Manchester; four sons, Dale Carney of Raymond, Wayne Carney and wife, Janice of Stewartstown, William Carney and wife, Liz of Clarksville, and Everett Carney of Clarksville; three brothers, Donald McKinnon and wife Lorraine of Clarksville, Paul McKinnon and wife Cindy of Clarksville, George McKinnon and wife Sandra of North Conway; one sister, Kathy Keezer of Clarksville; 20 grandchildren, Stephen Hodge and his wife Andrea, Georgie Hodge and his wife Ashley, Jaimie (Appleton) Hudgins and husband John, Jessica Carney, Bonnie (West) Goodrum, Dominic Kielas and wife Sarah, Elizabeth Kielas, Rachel (Kielas) Baker and husband Matthew, Amanda (Stromvall) Hernandez and husband Jose, Tabatha Pinet, Timothy Pinet, Christopher Pinet, William Carney, Felicia Carney, Dylan Carney, Elizabeth Gleason-Marsh, Zaberie Carney, and Mckenzie Carney; 11 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Janessa and Jackson Hodge, Devin Marsh, Bensen and Brysen Hodge, Jace Hudgins, Ava and Logan Kielas, Layla Baker, Marco, Jayden, Elijah and Annalyse Hernandez; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Donald (1991) and Evelyn (1993) McKinnon; and brother, Harry McKinnon (1998); a brother-in-law, Curtis Keezer (2003); granddaughter, Jennifer Jackson (2004); a nephew, Raymond McKinnon (2011); and a niece, Kristie McKinnon (2015). At her request there are no public calling hours. A funeral service will be held at the Independent Baptist Church in W. Stewartstown on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow in the Ben Young Hill Cemetery in Clarksville. Milton Kimball MILTON KIMBALL WARNER–Milton W. Kimball, 50, of Warner, died tragically on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, in Georgetown, Mass., as a result of injuries received in a workplace accident. Milton was born in Derry, on April 13, 1966, a son to the late Charles and Jeannette (Parker) Kimball. He was raised in the North Country and was a 1984 graduate of Canaan Memorial High School in Canaan, Vt. He attended ITT in Massachusetts for two years and earned his certification as a diesel mechanic. Milton worked as a diesel mechanic and was employed for many years at the Mirra Construction Company in Georgetown. He loved to be at camp in Pittsburg, and enjoyed the hunting, fishing and snowmobiling in his beloved North Country. Milton was known for his sense of humor and being helpful to all and generous to a fault, and as someone who touched everyone’s life. For many years, Milton also enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader. Milton is survived by his son, Joshua Kimball of Manchester, and Josh’s mother, Terrie Kelly of Sunapee; his partner, Sue Morton of Warner; a brother, Robbie Kimball and wife Terry of Canaan; as well as many cousins. Memorial calling hours will be on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jenkins and Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A memorial service will be on the next morning, Sat., Oct. 15, 10 a.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Colebrook. MILLARD SWIFT STARK–Millard Allen “Bobo” Swift, 88, of Stone Drive, Stark and formerly of Groveton, died peacefully on June 30, 2016 at Maine Medical in Portland, Maine, after a brief illness with his loving family by his side.
