JIM ROBINSON AND SUE FOWLER IN CONCERT Sunday, after lunch, we took a drive down to Cookshire to attend a show put on by Jim Robinson and Sue Fowler at Trinity United Church. We arrived at 1:30 p. m. to be sure to have a good seat for the 2 p. m. show. At 2, Don Parsons, organizer of the event, welcomed everyone to the show and then introduced Jim Robinson and Sue Fowler to all.
Jim Robinson grew up in nearby Bulwer, Que., and is always honored to put on a show for people of the area. Jim is a singer / songwriter and most of his songs are about local people he grew up with and played hockey with. Jim and Sue love to come back to this region to see friends, and of course, put on a show or two.
Trinity Church was full of old friends, new friends and lovers of good old time music. Jim talked about house parties where they would play music until the early hours the next morning – the good old days for sure. The
afternoon was very enjoyable for both young and old. The show finished a little before 5 p. m. with all heading home with a song in their heart.

OPEN HOUSE AT ALEXANDER GALT
Saturday morning, this old photo-taker took a step back into our past as we visited our old high school, which we attended many years ago.
Saturday’ s Open House at Alexander Galt High School started at 9 a. m. with students past, present, and future gathering in the auditorium for welcoming words. We were then split into groups for a tour of a school that offers students more than just an education. It offers friendship, top-notch sports programs, and so much more in a very relaxed setting.
On our tour we visited the gyms, a grade 7 school room, a science lab where an experiment was underway, student lounges when students can relax during
open periods, a robotics lab, the library, and many more places of interest. A lot of changes have taken place since our high school days, but the high standards of learning are still top priority at Alexander Galt.

SAWYERVILLE UNITED CHURCH BELL FOUND Back in July 2015, the historic Sawyerville United Church bell was stolen from the lawn of the Church Manse where it has sat ever since the Sawyerville United Church went up in flames a few years back. The Surete Quebec Police force worked very hard on the case, but clues were very hard to find.
In early September of this year, they received a tip that the bell was found in a scrap yard in the greater Sherbrooke area, not too far from Sawyerville. The church bell was returned to the Church community by police in early September, but the news was kept very quiet until late September to let the police work.
