She was noted for wearing
“funky” clothes and jewelry. She
loved to decorate her home with
collectibles and eclectic antiques.
She was truly unique, one of a
kind, and will be missed by
everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Bertrand Mongeau, of
Clarksville; her mother, Geraldine McClure of Whitefield; two
sisters, Patricia Booth of Newport, R.I. and Carol McClure of
N. Windham, Maine; her children, Elizabeth Probasco and her
husband Carl, Victoria Andrade
and her husband Jose, Robert
O’Dell and Timothy O’Dell; stepchildren, Renee Kane and husband Daniel, Steve Mongeau and
husband Jimmy Falls, David
Mongeau and his wife Elizabeth;
four grandchildren, and four
step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father, Nathan
McClure, and by two brothers,
Dennis McClure and Nathan
McClure, III.
At her request, there are no
public calling hours or services.
A private burial will take place
at the convenience of the family.

5-7 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral
Home, 210 Main Street in Lancaster. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated Friday
morning at 11 a.m. at All Saints
Church, 163 Main Street, in Lancaster.
Reverend
Matthew
Mason, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be held at a later date
at the convenience of the family.

SYLVIA GAY ROY
WHITEFIELD–Sylvia Gay
Roy, 75, passed away on Monday,
Oct. 10, 2016 with her loving
family by her side. She was born
July 23, 1941 in Lancaster the
daughter of Leo and Alice (Pelletier) Chouinard. Sylvia was a
graduate of Lancaster High
School.
Sylvia was a Teacher’s Aide
at Whitefield Elementary where
she enjoyed teaching and working with kids. Sylvia loved the
outdoors especially gardening
and caring for the birds that
visited her home. Her favorite
pastime was spending time with
her five children, sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

and her husband Richard of Hot

THERESE M. d’ANJOU
W. STEWARTSTOWN–Therese M. d’Anjou, 93, passed away
peacefully on Tuesday morning,
Oct. 11, 2016, at the Coös County
Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown.
She was born on August 26,
1923, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, a
daughter to the late Wilfrid and
Adrianne (David) Arpin.
Therese came to live in the
U.S. when she married her husband, Wilfrid d’Anjou. Together,
they raised five children on the
farm in South Canaan. She was
a hard-working woman who
enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking
and reading. Her greatest joy
was to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She leaves behind her three
sons, Alain d’Anjou and wife Lise
Dionne of Canaan, Vt., Loic
d’Anjou and wife Wendy Mae of
Canaan, and Yves d’Anjou and
partner Theresa of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two daughters, Francine d’Anjou and husband R eal
Jubinville of Sherbrooke, and
Caroline d’Anjou and husband
David Hipkins of Waterford, Vt.;
eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She is pre-deceased by her
husband of 65 years, Wilfrid
d’Anjou in 2013, and by one
brother and three sisters.
There are no public calling
hours and services will be private.

JOHN W. KENNEDY JR.
BEVERLY, Mass.–John W.
Kennedy Jr., 93, formerly of
Lancaster, died Sunday, Oct. 9,
2016 at Ledgewood Rehabilitation in Beverly, Mass.
Kennedy was born in Medford, Mass. on May 24, 1923, the
son of John W. Kennedy Sr. and
Mary Elizabeth (Buckley) Kennedy. He was a graduate of Medford High School and Holy Cross
where he acquired a Bachelors
degree in Chemistry. He served
in Asiatic Pacific Theater during
World War II as a Lieutenant in
the US Navy. After the war he
was employed as a math and
chemistry teacher at Cranwell
Preparatory School, Lenox,
Mass., and Miss Hall’s School in
Pittsfield, Mass. He retired in
1987.
Family members include his
wife Jane (Twitchell) Kennedy
of Beverly, Mass.; a son Dr.
Stephen Kennedy of Elkgrove,
Calif.; two daughters, Ellen Jean
Butler of Beverly, Mass., Carol
Stone of Acton, Mass.; seven
grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
There are no visiting hours.
A funeral service was held
Thursday morning, Oct. 13, at
11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal
Church, Lancaster, with Reverend Timothy Brooks, pastor,
officiating. Burial with military
honors followed in Summer
Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
