Partinform training

Form, Fit and Function
No attendee felt like a spare part when the well-oiled and squeak-free Partinform training machine
rolled into Mamelodi, Pretoria in mid-September for two days of parts information sharing and
parts fitment training
W
ithout wanting to stroke any
egos, Partinform trainers are
truly vital industry components,
and when it comes to giving advice,
there’s no shortage of suppliers of the
highest tier.
Partinform organiser’s clearly put their
heads together, got the timing right and
covered all their overheads.
Gaskets, oils, filters, diesel and gasoline
systems, bearings, the complete engine,
batteries, clutches, shocks, belts, brakes
and general car care were all carefully
unpacked. And since the firing order of
the topics changed on day two, everyone
left feeling advanced to some degree.
Informal mechanics that would otherwise
lose their bearings, compressed
themselves into the training halls to
absorb as much information from the
trainers as possible.
And the trainers ensured that
their information filtered through
uncontaminated, having accurately
diagnosed the audience’s competency
levels.
Partinform trainers always put a stop to
bad practices that can score the industry
and which fuel erroneous fitment fires.
Naturally, Partinform’s braking experts
pulled out all the stops in this regard, as
they beat the tried and tested drum.
One shudders to think what happens
roadside, which is why the clutch experts
engaged the crowd - on the fly and at a
constant velocity - to eradicate information
slip.
Bright sparks kick-started a discussion
on batteries, which guaranteed a positive
experience for all. While some questions
shook things up, the shocks guys absorbed
the pressure.

Many a mechanic realised they needed
to tighten their belts, while others were
just happy to have more knowledge
under theirs.
Of course, no question is misaligned
at Partinform, despite the widely held
belief that the squeaking wheel gets the
grease.
So there would be no slapping - piston
or otherwise - but instead plenty of back
patting, since this type of training always
hits dead centre and rings true for many.
And because the information
injected throughout was so
interesting, attendance never
tapered off. No-one blew a gasket,
and nobody put a spanner in the
works. All-in-all an event that once
again oiled the industry’s training
wheels.
