Supported the Mayor and Deputy Mayor at the Global Retail Real Estate Convention

Each year, the DC delegation joins over 33,000 retail real estate professionals at the convention to communicate to the entire retail development community that the District is a primary growth market. The convention provides the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development valuable face time in a business casual setting for investors to become more familiar with the District, our government officials and Department of Employment Services, and OCTO’s GIS program.

Deployed Web Map App showing Great Streets Corridors to Assist with Eligibility for Great Street funding

Great Streets is the Mayor’s multi-year, multi-agency commercial revitalization initiative to transform emerging corridors across the District into thriving and inviting neighborhood centers. OCTO’s GIS group supported the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development by mapping and creating custom maps for all eleven corridors throughout the District. These boundaries were processed and added into a web map application for use by potential businesses inquiring if their locations are eligible for funding. Learn more: http://greatstreets.dc.gov/
