• Oct 14: See cutting edge food products face off in the 9th annual Great Manitoba Food Fight. The event, hosted by Manitoba Agriculture, Food, and Rural Development in partnership with the Manitoba Food Processor ' s Association and De Luca ' s, offers a chance for local entrepreneurs to present creative new edibles, like last year ' s winner, Jamore! Real Fruit Spread( pictured). Judges will award the top three contenders with prize packages to help get their products off the ground. • Oct 16-18: Winnipeg ' s meeting place plays host to wines from across the globe at the International Wine Festival of Manitoba, put on by Fenton ' s Wine Merchants. Swirl and sip samples from more than 100 wineries, while Fenton ' s Gourmet Foods offers a cheese booth with hundreds of varieties to pair with vino. Free admission, sampling tickets 50 ¢ each. • Nov 14: The Canadian Diabetes Association presents its annual Best Banting Evening to celebrate Diabetes Awareness Month.
