Rutabaga Fries
This take on a summer favourite has less starch and an added sugary surprise .
INGREDIENTS : 2 medium sized rutabagas canola oil for deep frying 1 tsp seasoning salt 1 tsp brown sugar 1 Tbsp hemp seed hearts Honey Dill Sauce 1 cup real mayonnaise 1 / 2 cup local honey juice from 1 / 2 a lemon pinch of salt and pepper 1 / 4 cup chopped fresh dill
METHOD : 1 . Thoroughly wash rutabagas and remove any dark spots . 2 . Cut rutabagas into french fry sized sticks and soak in water for a few minutes . Let drain in a colander . 3 . Pre-heat deep fryer to 300 ° F and cook for 7 minutes , stirring once or twice . 4 . Once fully cooked , immediately toss with seasoning salt , hemp seed hearts and brown sugar . Honey Dill Sauce Mix all ingredients in a bowl .
