Rutabaga Fries
This take on a summer favourite has less starch and an added sugary surprise.
INGREDIENTS: 2 medium sized rutabagas canola oil for deep frying 1 tsp seasoning salt 1 tsp brown sugar 1 Tbsp hemp seed hearts Honey Dill Sauce 1 cup real mayonnaise 1 / 2 cup local honey juice from 1 / 2 a lemon pinch of salt and pepper 1 / 4 cup chopped fresh dill
METHOD: 1. Thoroughly wash rutabagas and remove any dark spots. 2. Cut rutabagas into french fry sized sticks and soak in water for a few minutes. Let drain in a colander. 3. Pre-heat deep fryer to 300 ° F and cook for 7 minutes, stirring once or twice. 4. Once fully cooked, immediately toss with seasoning salt, hemp seed hearts and brown sugar. Honey Dill Sauce Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
