The Florida League of Cities , the united voice for Florida ’ s municipal governments , announced that Davis & Associates , P . A . Managing Shareholder Keith W . Davis , Esq . was recently elected President of the Florida Municipal Attorneys Association ( FMAA ) for the 2024-2025 year . The FMAA provides a permanent forum for over 800 attorneys who specialize in the legal representation of Florida municipal governments to identify and address legal problems of common concern among Florida ’ s municipalities , and to study , summarize , and disseminate legislation , court decisions and administrative rulings affecting municipal operations . The FMAA serves as a conduit of information to local government attorneys in Florida and provides continuing legal education for its members . The Association publishes a quarterly newsletter ( Florida Municipal Law Reporter ), which includes case law summaries and holds an annual educational seminar each July . As President , Mr . Davis will make several FMAA Executive Board appointments , and will oversee FMAA operations and chair the July 2025 seminar .

J ones Foster , a 100-year-old commercial and private client law firm , is pleased to announce that shareholder Roberto M . Vargas has been elected president of the board of directors at HomeSafe , a local nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive programming to assist victims of child abuse and domestic violence . As board president , Mr . Vargas will facilitate and preside at board meetings , guide board members in strategic decision-making , and assist in fundraising initiatives that will support HomeSafe ’ s lifesaving programs . Mr . Vargas is a longtime advocate of HomeSafe and was first elected to the board in 2009 . This new leadership role marks his second term as president , a position in which he previously served from 2014 to 2016 .
