Financial Literacy Skills

Financial
Services
students who have
started their Personal
Finance unit . The new
Business
Education
course
has
seen
classes
learning
about
methods
of
payment , saving and
borrowing
and
researching some of
the different products
on
the
market .
Students have been
comparing
debit
cards
and
credit
cards , learning about
mortgages
and
investigating
pensions ! After some
research
they
discovered
they
wouldn ’ t be receiving
their state pension till
at least 2071 ! Next up
they will be learning
how
to
keep
a
budget
and
to
interpret a payslip .
Geography Fieldwork
Advanced
Higher
Geography students
took part in two days
of
fieldwork
at
Dolphin House with
pupils from Prestwick
and
Queen
Margaret .
The
weather
was
fantastic
on
both
days
where
they
investigated coastal
transects , soil pits and
the biogeography of
Mochrum Woods .

could choose which
task to complete and
some of their entries
were very impressive .
