elcome back to year 2 of the OCR L3 Cambridge Technicals in Media studies course at South Leicestershire College. It’s great to see you back, hope you had a smashing summer…… now it’s time for the hard work to begin!

During this year you will need to think carefully about what
your next step will be.

You are studying for an OCR qualification in Media studies that
allows you to apply to Higher Education institutions to study for a degree or HND and now is the time to finish your Higher Education research and to start completing your UCAS form. You’ll be completing your UCAS form in tutorial but you should take the opportunity to discuss your progress with your year 1 lecturers.

Maybe you want to study professional qualifications such as the
Certificate in Marketing, you may well be starting to look at local career and training opportunities So, now is the time to start preparing your CV and analysing your strengths and weaknesses.

Your OCR qualification will demonstrate to your employer or
future employer that you are willing to learn and have developed Media skills to enable you to carry out your job.

You’ll find in the handbook information on the course structure,
unit outlines, assignment deadlines, and resources you might like to use over the year. Plus a reminder of how the grading works – just to focus your mind!
