Aquarium and Marine Science Center Stranding Response Team, told National Geographic. "It was a preventable death. "It makes me very sad that a piece of plastic that was not disposed of properly ended up killing a whale," Susan Barco, at the Virginia.
3“The most dangerous threat to Dolphin existence is man. Research suggests that over 95% of dolphin deaths are directly attributable to causes related to man.” (Dolphins-World)
Many dolphins fall to the illusion thiking that plastic is food. Little pieces of plastic injested by a dolphin and other sea life can cause blockage in the animal and eventually lead to starvation.
If the health and biodiveristy of the sea isn't enough to want to make a change. Then the fact that the pollution of trash in the oceans and all the toxic chemicals that comes with it is actually ending up inside of us, should turn some heads towards the problem. The plastics can contain lead, cadium, and mercury. The fish in the ocean have been found with these toxic chemicals inside of them and we eat the fish which passes the chemicals in to us. The toxins in the plastics have a direct link to the causes of cancer, birth defects, immune system problems and can cause negative changes in children development. The time of waiting is over it is time to make a change to the health of the sea before we lose it all.
