OT APPRENTICESHIPS AWAIT APPROVAL UK’s first occupational therapy integrated masters launches in Aberdeen Robert Gordon University is launching the UK’s first integrated masters degree in occupational therapy. The four-year, RCOT-accredited course will see students gain a Masters in Occupational Therapy (MOccTh), which will help to arm graduates with high-level skills to enter the workforce and abilities to apply research and leadership skills from the start of their careers. Judith Bisset, the course leader, said: ‘This degree will lead to the development of engaged and confident entry-level practitioners – equipped with a strong professional identity and master’s level skills, experience and research knowledge – ready to enhance the profile and credibility of the profession both nationally and globally.’ England’s hotly-anticipated occupational therapy apprenticeships are now awaiting final approval from the Institute of Apprenticeships (IfA) before employers can start to recruit apprentices.
