Applications are now invited for the 2019
funding round. Grants are available
in the following categories:
ROYAL COLLEGE OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS – AWARDS 2019
Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT)
members are invited to nominate their colleagues
for a Merit Award in recognition of their special
contribution to the profession.
Research Priority Grant
(1 grant of up to £80,000)
To support a major research project that clearly
addresses an identified professional UK research
priority area. Applicants will need to justify the
priority need for their proposal in relation to
national/local policy and priority for practice.
Research Career Development Grant
(up to 2 grants of up to £10,000 each)
This grant provides support towards doctoral
or early post-doctoral (up to 5 years from
completion of PhD or similar) research for
individuals who can demonstrate a career
pathway as an occupational therapy researcher.
Eligibility criteria
For all grants, the lead applicant must be a
member of the British Association of Occupational
Therapists (BAOT) at the time of applying.
Co-applicants may include non-occupational
therapists. Co-applicants who have an occupational
therapy qualification must meet the BAOT
membership criterion as stated above.
MERIT AWARDS 2019
These awards, introduced in 2008, are open to
all members of RCOT (students, practitioners,
associate members, managers, educators,
researchers, new practitioners) with a
minimum of two full consecutive membership
years, who are recognised by their peers
in the occupational therapy community for
excellence in their sphere of work.
Deadline for return of completed forms is
Monday 26 November 2018.
