PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES UKOTRF grants 2019 RCOT is pleased to announce the outcome of the annual competitive UK Occupational Therapy Research Foundation (UKOTRF) funding round. In 2019, there was scope to award up to three grants across the two available categories. A total of 15 proposals were received, the quality of which made for a highly competitive round. While those who were unsuccessful on this occasion will naturally be disappointed, the level of interest and the quality of the applications demonstrate positive progress in the building of research capability and capacity within the profession. The three grants were awarded as set out in the table. We congratulate all of our winners and look forward to celebrating their success at the annual awards reception to be held in September. RCOT’s Research and Development Review commenced in June 2017 and is now drawing to a close with the publication of the new Research and Development Strategy anticipated in the autumn. As part of this review, the nature, structure and impact of RCOT’s awards and funding streams, including the UKOTRF, were scrutinised. RCOT is delighted to announce that as a result the UKOTRF is being rebranded as the Royal College of Occupational Therapists’ Research Foundation. There will be new and exciting grant opportunities, including a call for systematic reviews and a larger Research Priority Grant aimed at mid-career researchers. It is anticipated that the call for proposals for the 2020 funding round will be published in early October 2019. Watch this space for more details.
