Assessment of Motor and Process Skills course (AMPS)
AMPS is an innovative observational assessment that is used to
measure the quality of a person’s activities of daily living (ADL).
This is assessed by rating the effort, efficiency, safety, and
independence of 16 ADL motor and 20 ADL process skill items,
within the context of performing chosen, familiar, and life-relevant
ADL tasks. Venue: Royal College of Occupational Therapists,

The assessment and treatment of clients with
perception and cognition

The content of the course involves: Experience and gain a
general understanding of the interaction of normal perception and
cognition; Overview of how neuroanatomy and neuropsychology
relate to cognition; Develop an understanding of how perceptual
and cognitive deficits impact on functional ability; Briefly evaluate
the use of functional and standardised assessments; Obtain a
methodology for differential diagnosis; Review current treatment

RCOTSS – Children, Young People and Families
The annual conference of the RCOT Specialist Section for
occupational therapists working with children, young people and
families. The event includes a keynote by Professor Helene
Polatajko. This year there is a specific stream of presentations run by

Masterclass: The Occupational Therapy-led Home-
based Memory Rehabilitation Programme (HBMR)
Facilitated by Mary McGrath, this Masterclass is aimed at band
six and above occupational therapists working in the area of
dementia. This one-day masterclass will enable delegates to gain
a working knowledge of the neuropsychology of normal memory
and attention. Delegates will consolidate knowledge of the
neuropathology of the common forms of dementia and will learn

families: Assessment, intervention and service delivery

Courses
This hugely successful annual course is aimed at occupational
therapists who want to learn from clinicians who are specialists in
their field. Course content will include current best practice in
assessment and intervention for a wide range of children with
conditions such as ASD, CP, DCD, ADHD; Developmental Delay
and the age range covered will be birth to school leaving age.
The course will focus on the latest evidence-based approaches;
efficient intervention processes from referral to discharge.
Sessions will be devoted to writing EHCPs and our service
delivery models including the tiered approach nursery and school

Evaluation of Social Interaction (ESI)
NCORE
This three-day training workshop provides critical information
related to the theoretical basis of the Evaluation of Social
Interaction (ESI), as well as experiential learning of administering
and scoring ESI evaluations. Participants obtain valuable, hands-
on information regarding occupation-based assessment and
intervention, as well as viewing and scoring videotaped and live
ESI observations during the course. CPD Certificate of
