PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES
Get up to speed with CPD@RCOT this HCPC
audit year
CPD@RCOT, the index of all the continuing professional
development resources offered by the Royal College, has been
overhauled and relaunched.
The web page contains learning resources and opportunities
condensed in a user-friendly and easy-to-navigate layout to help
members find ways to further their career.
The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) will be auditing
a selection of occupational therapists later this year and members are
urged to make sure their CPD is up to date.
Dr Stephanie Tempest, RCOT professional development manager,
said: ‘We have so many fantastic resources to help members take the
next steps in their professional lives, from our Career Development
Framework to CPD short courses. CPD@RCOT is the one-stop shop
to find everything you need, and we recommend all members check
in now to see how you can take your work further.
‘We will be updating the page regularly so do bookmark it, and we
welcome feedback from members on what resources they would like
to see us add in future.’

COTEC elections
Elections are taking place for four posts at the Council of
Occupational Therapists for the European Countries (COTEC).
The next General Assembly of COTEC will be held in Brussels,
Belgium on 25 and 26 October 2019. At this meeting, elections
will take place for four posts that have become vacant as terms
of office have run their course. This is an exciting opportunity to
engage with the European occupational therapy community and
work to deliver the COTEC Strategic Plan, which aims to ensure
that occupational therapy is valued, visible, available and accessible
in Europe.
The vacant posts are president, vice president administration and
two members of the Executive Committee.
Nominations for these positions are now being called from all
COTEC member associations. Every occupational therapist who is a
member of their national association is eligible. Member associations
can nominate one or more candidates from their own country or
another country. At most, two of the six members of the Executive
Committee may be from the same national association/country.
There is already one member from the UK: Naomi Hankinson, who is
vice president.
The term of office is four years, with the possibility to be re-
elected in the same position for a term of two years.
For more information and to access the nomination form,
please visit: www.rcot.co.uk/news/cotec-executive-committee-call-
nominations.
Please contact Julia Skelton or the current COTEC president
Stephanie Saenger to discuss this opportunity further: Julia.Skelton@
rcot.co.uk or Stephanie.Saenger@coteceurope.eu. Nominations
should be submitted no later than midday 29 April 2019.

‘If you are an occupational therapist working predominantly
with adults with intellectual disabilities you are warmly invited to
complete this survey,’ she says.
