RCOT gathers members’ COVID-19
experiences

OVID-19 has impacted their work.
The pandemic has created huge upheaval, with thousands of
embers switching roles and settings, seeing increased workloads,
r changing how they work every day. The Royal College is seeking
nformation from all members across practice, education and
esearch, as well as students and retired members, about those
xperiences.
The information gathered in the COVID-19 member survey will
elp shape how RCOT supports its members and promotes the
rofession throughout the pandemic and beyond.

orkout videos creates her own
Ella Beaumont
ckdown workout videos have become massively popular online,
t when Ella Beaumont tried to find some for wheelchair users, she
uldn’t find any.
Ella, 25, studied sports coaching science with disability studies
the University of Worcester, and has represented Great Britain
the under-25 world championships. She decided to launch her
n Wheelchair Workouts YouTube channel to help anyone with an
pairment stay fit and active in their homes.
Her upper body workouts provide a series of exercises for strength,
rdio and resistant band training.
Her Wheelchair Workouts have had thousands of views and have
en featured on BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat. She has also been
proached by disability charities and gyms from around the country,
en to promote home workout videos for people with impairments.
She says: ‘I’m really pleased that my videos have had such a positive
pact on the disabled community. My aim was to reach as many
ople as possible to encourage them and give ideas on how to work
t at home without specialised equipment.’
