Disability Justice
The movement to end gender-based violence and disability rights are closely interconnected. Women with disabilities experience violence at rates two to three times higher than those without disabilities. Additionally, 47 % of transgender people with disabilities report experiencing sexual violence. Ensuring that One Billion Rising events are inclusive of people with disabilities is crucial because it fosters a truly inclusive movement against all forms of violence and discrimination.
