After what felt like hours , my legs were unbearably sore , feeling as if they were detaching from the rest of my body . As I started to slow down , I tried to catch a glimpse of this great predator ; however , every time I turned my head , it seemed to disappear into thin air or hide behind a tree trunk . Exhausted , I looked around and found a tree and decided to climb . I gripped the tough tree bark and slowly gained altitude above the forest grounds , hoping to escape the beast lurking below .
As I waited for an eternity upon this tree I decided there was no hope and slowly lowered myself with care , stepping from branch to branch and carefully coordinating my worn-out legs along with my drained hands , tired from gripping the tree bark . Every step down felt like I was going higher , a confusing sensation overtaking my body . What was happening ? Unable to control my own body , I tried to grip the tree , but I felt my hands loosening slowly , unable to grip the branches any longer . One of the last things I remember is falling . I fell continuously until I felt the dull thud of my fall , and the crunch of the branches along with the bones of my right leg . I felt my eyes starting to close and my body going numb .
I don ’ t remember much about that time I lay there . In fact , all I can recall is a pair of yellow eyes that glowed in front of me . As I lay on the forest grounds , it felt like I was spinning , almost as if this beast grasped me by the legs and spun me continuously for hours .
When I woke up I remember the blinding white lights , illuminating a room with complex machines that beeped and made various noises . Suddenly a woman in a blue hospital gown walked in . “ You ’ ve been out for a while !” she remarked . In complete shock from the situation , all I could say was , “ Oh , umm , yeah , I guess I have .”
